Good morning everyone! I’ve been working on this post for awhile and so happy to be able to finally share it! Jordan and I just finished building our first home. We were sick of renting and needed something super close to work.
While building this home out, I knew exactly what I wanted. I’m a neutral type of a girl and was excited to finally create something that I had in my mind for years. Today I’m showing you the cute little kitchen. I love contrast. So I wanted white and black, you can’t go any more contrast than that. For hardware, I shopped with Schoolhouse Electric. I’ve followed them on Instagram for a few years now and loved their aesthetic. I decided to go with a longer drawer handle, they are called the Edgecliff Pulls. The knobs are also from Schoolhouse Electric, they are called the Riverwood Knobs. I wanted something super untraditional for the sink, so I went with a black farmhouse sink and spout. I love the vibe it brings into the kitchen.
For the pendant lighting, I went with the Katie Globe from One Kings Lane. At first, I wasn’t sure and thought they were too basic. I love them even more in person and think they compliment the space perfectly.
As far as decorating the space, I knew from the very start I wanted open shelving. I’ve always loved the look of open shelving. I’ve linked all products used to decorate above. For our barstools, I wanted something with a wood seat to compliment the open shelves. I searched high and low for the perfect barstools. I found these ones from Greta de Parry. I originally found them on Instagram and immediately fell in love with their Coleman Stools. I did a little research on the company and was totally impressed by how girl boss Greta is. She has designed and crafted each piece. You can tell her heart and soul is invested in her work. It totally shows in the craftsmanship of the stools. This stool, in particular, won Best Furniture Award from Dwell on Design Awards. When the stools arrived at my front door I was beyond excited. The packaging of the stool blew me away. The assembly of the stools was so simple. They couldn’t have made it easier! The instructions were straightforward, consisted of only a couple of steps and the way they packaged it made it simple. I will definitely be purchasing more of these stools when we move into our next home. Keep a look out on my Instagram in the next few weeks, I feel a giveaway coming on, I love these stools that much!
For the dining room, I wanted a stunning accent wallpaper. The inspiration came from a restaurant in Salt Lake City called Finca. They have a room in their establishment for private parties, and they have this wallpaper in there. I immediately fell in love when I saw this room and had to know where it was from! The wallpaper is from Ellie Cashman, called the Dark Floral Wallpaper. For the dining room table, we wanted something solid that would add contrast to the wallpaper. We went with the Reclaimed Russian Oak Planked table from Restoration Hardware in the color Grey Reclaimed Oak. The table is so solid and such good quality. Our chairs are also from Restoration Hardware, I was a little nervous about doing a fabric seat in such a light color, but it has been great. They put some sort of protectant on their fabrics, that liquid just sits on the top of the fabric and doesn’t soak in. They are really comfy and definitely worth the money. The bench I had custom made by someone local. Sometimes you can’t find exactly what you want, so have it made! The dining room light is from Restoration Hardware as well, you can find it here. The bowl in the center of the table I found at West Elm, you can find that here.
If you have any questions, let me know! I would be happy to answer them. Keep an eye out for the living room reveal! <3
What a beautiful kitchen! I can definitely see your style and taste in this. I love the all white mixed with the bits of black. I’m jealous of the person that gets to rent this place.
