Pantry

One of the best parts to moving from apartments to homes is (usually) access to a pantry. Hallelujah, no more fuss on piling pasta on top of rice on top of cans and snacks all in one or two cabinets! Sometimes, cooking for two (let alone four) out of a small kitchen might mean you only have room for a handful of meals.

Meal planning with smaller kitchens could be a procrastinator’s dream or the type A planner nightmare – which group do you empathize with the most?

Our pantry is nestled behind a swinging french door, and provides so much organization (and sanity) for us, that our kitchen has room to breathe instead of packing our food stores into nooks and crannies around all of the dishes!

We assembled our pantry through many opportunities provided through Shelby Homes, including expertise from Alice Lane Interior Design and Simply Sam Organization and Design, who strategized and drafted visuals for the whole pantry with us. Tapping experienced organizational help is a LIFE SAVER when you feel like you are (or really are) spinning a hundred plates at a time.

The pantry has one of the most dramatic contrasting colors in our home, with a dark, moody blue in the Bedrosians Cloe Tile line as the backdrop to crisp, white cabinets. Our cabinets have simple and elegant knobs from Emtek, who has also helped us with other rooms.

As with other rooms, Tule Tile installed all of our tile work in the pantry. The wall tiles stand out through the cerused white oak open shelves, which highlight the style of a classic French Country kitchen. Similarly, Hudson Valley provided us with lighting, where we opted for the Gunther Pendant to bring in a classic look with Vienna styling. We also love all of the metal accents through our home, which was all provided by House of Rohl and seen again here. Looking through to the sink, it almost looks like it could be one of those apartment efficiency kitchens instead of a pantry! We are so thankful looking back at how our lives have grown and evolved.

Last but not least BIG shout out to Edit Design House for staging the pantry!

Have you brought out your dark side in any especially dramatic accents in your home? Give us the details in the comments!
